NetWorx – Free Bandwidth monitor that saves your bill

NetWorx is a simple and free, yet powerful tool that helps you objectively evaluate your bandwidth situation. You can use it to collect bandwidth usage data and measure the speed of your Internet or any other network connection. NetWorx can help you identify possible sources of network problems, ensure that you do not exceed the bandwidth limits specified by your ISP, or track down suspicious network activity characteristic of Trojan horses and hacker attacks. Click here to download
It is a must for the users who have broadband with limited data usage.Just give it a try,its awesome.

The program allows you to monitor all your network connections or a specific network connection (such as Ethernet or PPP) only. The software also features a system of highly customizable visual and sound alerts. You can set it up to alert you when the network connection is down or when some suspicious activity, such as unusually heavy data flow, occurs. It can also automatically disconnect all dialup connections and shut down the system.
The incoming and outgoing traffic is represented on a line chart and logged to a file, so that you can always view statistics about your daily, weekly and monthly bandwidth usage and dialup duration. The reports can be exported to a variety of formats, such as HTML, MS Word and Excel, for further analysis.

Key features of networx is shown below..
*You can select the appropriate interface to monitor,ie you can choose your ethernet driver or dialup modem(if use mobile as modem with your pc suite) or to monitor both.
*Networx produce daily reports, weekly, monthly reports based on your usage.

*In addition to monitor data usage,it also contains other vital utilities like ping, trace route with advanced settings to monitor any suspicious activity in your system.

Networx provides the significant settings which make this software as my favourite one, is that it differentiates the off-peak and on-peak usages. For example,if you have broadband with limited usage in the day time and unlimited usage during the night time(some ISP'S like bsnl, mts, reliance are having plans similar to this).
If you're having bsnl broadband with unlimited night usage(2am-8am), you can make the settings as follows,
*Right click the networx icon in the system tray and select settings, as shown below;

*Select advance tab
*Now you can see the week and time grid under the Hours in 24-hr format section.
*Make the grids between 2am-8am as green for all the days of the week(green indicates the off-peak time).
make other grids as yellow which indicates the on-peak time ie daytime.
*Click apply and ok button.
By this way,you can track the daytime usage by simply ignoring the night usage,so that you cannot exceed your data usage limit.
Now double click the networx icon in the system tray, you can see the usage statistics screen, select monthly or daily report tab, click the display menu as shown below,

If you select on-peak hours, you can get the daytime usage results, like wise you will get the off-peak usage(2am-8am) separately.
Nice,Isn't it?
